The apostle Paul writes that Jesus is Lord of creation and the church.
Colossians 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son . . . (NASB)
This verse reads like a chapter from “The Lord of the Rings”! As we are born sinful people into a sinful world – we are subjects of the kingdom of darkness. We are without hope — unless a “hero” comes to our rescue!
This is the good news of Scripture . . . that whoever believes the death of God’s Son paid for their sin – has been taken from the kingdom of darkness and delivered into the kingdom of the One Who died for us. This dark world is controlled by someone other than God – someone who wants to destroy you – but through Jesus – you can discover a well-lit escape route to Life!
