2 Peter 3:13
But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

God made the world and said it was good, but the perfect world He had made didn’t last long thanks to us. Fortunately, this world won’t be your permanent home. Christ is preparing something so much better for us in Heaven, and because you couldn’t get there on your own, He’s paid for your ticket. As impressive as earth is, it’s going to be nothing compared to the wonders awaiting you in eternity. You have infinite joy and peace to look forward to, but for the time being, do all you can to follow God’s will and win souls for the Kingdom of God during the time you have here!

Isaiah 40:26
Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of his might and because he is strong in power, not one is missing.

Creation is incredible, and God made all of it. He measured the universe with His hand, and He knows the stars by name. The innumerable galaxies scattered across the night sky are evidence of God’s majesty and design. The beauty of creation shows the character of God, in the same way that a painting shows the character of an artist. Next time you find yourself outside with a good view of the night sky, take a moment to pause, lift your eyes on high, and ask yourself “Who created these?”

Genesis 1:26
Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.

God made you in His image. He is three in one: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and likewise, you were also made with three parts: your body, mind and soul. Each of those three things are “you” but at the same time, none of them are entirely you, illustrating how the God who made you in His image can be three in one. You are a unique and special creation, loved by the

Almighty who sent His son to die for you. He has given you unknowable potential in this world, and if you walk where He calls you, you will bring glory to Him.

Genesis 1:31
And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Original creation was good. God even went so far as to say it was very good. In order for genuine love and obedience to exist in a perfect world, we were given free will. With that free will, Adam and Eve chose to defy the Lord’s one rule, bringing sin and death into the world. But even though God’s original creation has been corrupted by sin, you can still see the beauty of what He made, even today. It’s true that earth won’t be your home forever, but while you’re here, don’t forget to step outside and take in what God has made; His handiwork declares His majesty.

Colossians 1:16
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

It’s a simple truth that’s easy to take for granted: that God created everything there is. Not only the land and sea, but the planets, stars and galaxies as well. He set the winds into motion, He laid down the law of gravity, and even created time itself. Whether visible or invisible, of mankind or of the spiritual world, every created thing owes its existence to God. He is the perfect Creator, and everything that He made was made for a grand purpose: for the glory and enjoyment of the Lord.

Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

This passage makes it clear that gathering with other dedicated believers is important. Your faith is strengthened by your connection with other Christians, whether that be at church, Wednesday night bible study, or a small group at home. The writer of Hebrews implores that you don’t neglect to meet with each other like some do, but to make sure you’re encouraging and praying for each other always. Going to church isn’t what earns you a spot in Heaven… only the blood of Christ can do that… but it is a habit that gets you, and others, the most out of your walk with God.
