The Psalmist cries out for rescue after wandering away from God.
Psalm 119:176 I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten Your commands. (NLT)
Sheep, I have been told, are so stupid they literally cannot survive without a shepherd. All of God’s children, like sheep, wander at times . . . the author of this Psalm cries out to the Good Shepherd, “I am lost and in danger of perishing . . . come and find me!” This is a prayer God always answers!
Though you have memories of sweet communion with the Lord and have experienced His blessing — there are times you wander. What brings you back? Like a homing pigeon who finds its way though released miles from home — a Christ-follower has within, a God-given GPS that can guide them back to forgiveness, restoration, and re-commissioning in the King’s service!
