The Psalmist David humbles himself and receives forgiveness from God.
Psalm 32:5 [David writes] I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; and You forgave the guilt of my sin. (NASB)
No writer of Scripture ever wrote more vividly of the agonies of a stubborn, prideful, Christ-follower under the conviction of God – than Old Testament King David. All Christ-followers know exactly what David experienced! No one else may have known of David’s wrong-doing – but God did!
Bible teacher Chip Ingram describes conviction as being in “the velvet vise of God”. But there is an antidote: confess your wrongs to God and turn from them! Instead of trying to fool everyone that everything is alright – when it isn’t – humble yourself before God . . . confess and be healed! “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Your choice . . .
