Sweet and Smoky Mac and Cheese
Ingredients
- 8 oz Cream Cheese, Softened
- 3 Cups Milk
- 8oz Smoked Gouda, Shredded
- 8 oz Sharp White Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
- 8 oz Sliced American Cheese, Cut into small diced
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 Pound Bacon, Thick Cut
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Pound Pasta
- 1/4 Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 Cup BBQ Sauce
Method-
Place the milk and the cream cheese in a large pot and heat over medium low heat. Whisk together and blend. Add in about 2/3 of the cheese and the garlic and onion powder. Once the cheese is melted and smooth, remove from the heat.
Place the bacon on a sheet pan and bake until almost crispy. Sprinkle with brown sugar and return to the oven until the brown sugar has caramelized. Drain the bacon and then chop into large pieces.
Cook the pasta for 1 minute less than instructed or extra al dente. Drain
Combine the pasta, cheese sauce, the extra Gouda, cheddar and American and about 3/4 of the bacon. Pour into a 9×13 pan and top with the Parmesan.
bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until hot an bubbly. Top with remaining bacon and bbq sauce. Serve and enjoy!
