Romans 12:12
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

Our God is an awesome God, and there’s no hardship or tribulation on this earth that He can’t show His goodness in the midst of. The Word encourages you to rejoice and be hopeful in every circumstance, both for the great things God has in store, and for the paradise that He is preparing for you. Be patient when hard times come; the things that put your faith and joy to the test are what God uses to make you stronger. Finally, always make time to talk to God, praying not only for yourself, but for the people around you who need God’s grace.

Proverbs 17:22
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Being joyful isn’t just emotionally healthy, but also physically healthy. Over the years, studies have shown that long-term stress and anxiety can have poor effects on your bodily health. We shouldn’t be surprised; the Bible told us so! God wants good things for His kids, and He is happy when you find joy in the good things He has made. The Lord can’t guarantee is that you won’t face hardships, but through Him, you can find a peace that passes all understanding, and a joy that never dies.

Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

For those who love the Lord and have accepted the free gift of salvation, God provides the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is a helper that navigates through our everyday lives in a way that pleases God, and shows His love to the people around us. Paul encourages us in Galatians not to live our lives sinfully, according to what we want, but instead to walk by the Spirit. When you seek to live like Christ and serve Him in all that you do, your life is one that produces fruit! Fruits like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Romans 15:13“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

God did not give you a spirit of fear, but of peace and love… so why do so many of us live in constant stress and anxiety? With God’s help, you can be joyful in any circumstance the day throws at you. We know that nothing happens in our lives that the Lord didn’t plan for, and no bad thing has ever happened that He can’t use for the greater good. Rejoice in the Lord, and be hopeful for the great things He can do! He wants to use your life for amazing purposes, but if you spend too much of it worrying, you’ll miss out on the joy!

John 1:12
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Perhaps the greatest and most valuable promise from God is found in salvation. Echoed all throughout the New Testament is one repeating promise: that whoever believes in Jesus and accepts His sacrifice will be saved. Of all God’s promises, this is perhaps the most pivotal one. From the moment Creation was corrupted by sin, the Lord has had a plan to save us, and throughout all of human history the foundations were being laid for the coming of Jesus. Now, God’s guarantee is that if anyone puts their faith in Christ, no matter who they are or what they’ve done, they shall not perish, but have eternal life.

1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

God hears the prayers of His children. Not only that, but He wants to hear from you. When Christ died for the sins of the world, the veil separating us from God was torn; literally and metaphorically. Through all the ups and downs of life He is right there by your side, ready to hear your prayers. Whether you’re giving thanks for everything the Lord has done, or asking for His help when times are tough, the Father is always ready to listen. One of God’s promises is that He hears us, and if we are obedient to Him and follow His will for our lives, the Lord is only one whisper away.
