John 1:12
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Perhaps the greatest and most valuable promise from God is found in salvation. Echoed all throughout the New Testament is one repeating promise: that whoever believes in Jesus and accepts His sacrifice will be saved. Of all God’s promises, this is perhaps the most pivotal one. From the moment Creation was corrupted by sin, the Lord has had a plan to save us, and throughout all of human history the foundations were being laid for the coming of Jesus. Now, God’s guarantee is that if anyone puts their faith in Christ, no matter who they are or what they’ve done, they shall not perish, but have eternal life.

God hears the prayers of His children. Not only that, but He wants to hear from you. When Christ died for the sins of the world, the veil separating us from God was torn; literally and metaphorically. Through all the ups and downs of life He is right there by your side, ready to hear your prayers. Whether you’re giving thanks for everything the Lord has done, or asking for His help when times are tough, the Father is always ready to listen. One of God’s promises is that He hears us, and if we are obedient to Him and follow His will for our lives, the Lord is only one whisper away.

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

One of the Lord’s most comforting and personal promises was given to His chosen people when they were freed from bondage in Egypt. However, that same promise to never leave us or forsake us rings true today for believers. When you accept Christ as your savior, you accept God as your Father, and like a good dad, he doesn’t turn His back on you. He goes before you, and He will always be with you even on your darkest days. Don’t be afraid or dismayed; the Lord keeps His promises.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

God didn’t create you to suffer at the hands of worry and anxiety. Before sin and death entered the world, the “spirit of fear” wasn’t a part of God’s original creation. On this broken earth, you were born into a world of anxieties, but when you were born again, God gave you something new. Not a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of self-control. He promises new life to anyone who believes in the sacrifice of Jesus; so the next time you’re afraid, remember what your spirit is made of.

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

The scriptures are full of God’s promises, from the Israelites in the Old Testament to the believers of Christ in the New Testament. Promises aren’t meant to be broken, but I’m sure you can remember a time where someone didn’t keep their word. You and I as human beings are flawed and sinful, and we’re bound to have trust broken at some point in our lives. But the Lord created promises, and He has never broken one, nor will He ever. God is infallible, and His promises to love you, rescue you and stay by your side are unbreakable.

Revelation 7:11
And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God.

In the book of Revelation, John sees the angels of heaven bowing down and worshipping the Almighty. God is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning, and the End, and all of Creation knows it. Not only did God create the universe and breathe life into you, but by sacrificing His only begotten son He rescued you from yourself. You owe Him your worship not just for being the God of the universe, but also for being our Savior who loved us and paid for our sins with His blood. And at the end of our time here on earth, when you and I are gathered in Heaven with the angels, every knee will bow, and every tongue will glorify the Lord.
