John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

This verse is the central theme of the New Testament; the good news that offers you an eternal place in Heaven with the God who loves you and gave His only Son to save you. Because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, the debt you could never pay has been paid. The stains of sin that you could never wipe off on your own have been washed away by His blood. Your Father is waiting for you in Heaven, and for those around you too. This life may not be all there is, but it’s your only chance to accept Christ’s gift, and share the good news with those who need to hear it.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.

This world is where you’ll spend your temporary life, but a paradise that you can’t even imagine awaits you after this life is over. Revelation tells us that one day, the land and sea will be no more; God will do away with earth and give all His children a place in His heavenly kingdom. It’s important that you remember not to treasure the things of our earthly home, which won’t matter in the end. Instead, we should all make sure that the lives we do live are spent in service to God. One of the greatest joys of entering Heaven will be hearing the Father say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

Fear is one of the enemy’s most effective tools, and he uses it constantly to keep you from giving your fullest potential to God. There are plenty of things to be afraid of in this world, but our Father tells us time and time again that none of them are worth fearing. Scripture says that this life is but a breath compared to Heaven, but still we fear the things that threaten us in this blip of a lifetime. Mere man can’t separate you from God, and they cant steal His saving grace either. If you hold fast to the Lord, nothing in this temporary world is worth fearing… so live boldly for Him, and be a shining light unto the world.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

It often feels like as Christians, we are facing life at a disadvantage. The world today is indifferent and even hostile toward our faith and the Word of God; but that shouldn’t stop you. The Almighty is on your side, and if He is for you, who can be against you? How can the enemy possibly compare to the Lord? Fear is meant to chain God’s children down, but through the power of the Holy Spirit, we know that those chains are hollow and brittle.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

When our Savior left this earth, He gave as a very important commandment: to spread Christ’s love and the message of the gospel to everyone we can reach. It’s His will that none should perish, but unless a person accepts the gift of salvation, there is no hope after this life. Only through Christ’s blood can someone be made new in the eyes of God, which is why you should never be ashamed to share what it means to be born again. The love of Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross is available for everyone, but it’s up to you, His witness, to plant the seeds.

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

One of the greatest things about our God is that He is always with you. No matter how far you travel, no matter how bad things are or how insignificant you feel, the Lord is with you no matter what. In this passage, after the Lord has told Joshua that he will be the one to lead the Israelites, He commands Joshua to be strong and courageous. The Lord your God is with you wherever you go, and the same is true for us today. Be a bold servant of Christ, ready and willing to do whatever it is He has in store, remembering that whatever happens, you won’t be alone.
