The apostle Matthew writes Jesus’ encouragement to be persistent in spiritual pursuits.
Matthew 7:7-8 [Jesus said] “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (NASB)
If God knows your prayers before they are ever spoken — why pray? Because prayer doesn’t change God . . . it changes you! Prayer is a discipline to be learned; prayer is a portal to the throne room of God; prayer is a conversation with the Almighty!
God’s ways are not our ways. We pray like Aladdin rubbing the lamp: we expect instant results . . . that is not prayer. God is no divine vending machine! The secret to having prayers answered is a relationship with God. Learn what matters to God and use that as a primer for answered prayer!
