Meatloaf Panini
Ingredients
- About 2 Pounds Ground Beef
- 1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs
- 2 Tbsp Steak Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Ketchup
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1 Tsp Oregano
- 1 Tbsp Basil
- 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Tbsp Montreal Steak Seasoning
- 2 Eggs
Everything Else…
- 1 Large Yellow Onion, Sliced Thin
- 1 Stick of Salted Butter, Divided
- Salt and Pepper
- Swiss Cheese
- Crusty Italian Bread
- Mayonaise
- Fresh Baby Arugula
Method-
Combine the beef, seasonings, bread crumbs, sauces and eggs until well mixed. Line a loaf pan with foil and press the meatloaf in. Bake at 350 degrees for about 60 minutes, or until fully cooked. Allow to cool slightly and drain any excess fat. Slice in 3/4 inch slices
While the meatloaf is cooking, sautee the onions in 4 tbsp of butter until golden brown and tender. Set aside.
Spread mayo on one side of the bread and on the other spread a thin coat of butter. On the butter side add a slice of swiss, meatloaf slice and arugula. Top with another slice of swiss and the other slice of bread.
If you have a panini press, use to toast the sandwich on each side, the mayonnaise should be on the outside of the sandwich and will make a crispy sandwich! You can also make this just like a grilled cheese using a griddle or a large pan.
